Dancing Nancies

IMG_6744Blake and Willow played on the bed last night before bedtime while Willow wore her brand new Dave Matthew’s Band onesie.  Blake and I are the biggest fans and we even went to a show this summer when I was seven months pregnant.  DMB was always played on headphones strapped across my big belly, and we hope that Willow becomes as big of fans as we are.  Thanks for the gift Ben!

Happy Harvest

To welcome in the fall and the cooler temperatures, Grandma Gail crocheted Willow a little cocoon to snuggle in when the weather gets a little chilly.  I took the opportunity to snap some good shots.  I hope you enjoy.  IMG_6681IMG_6702IMG_6706IMG_6708IMG_6709IMG_6712IMG_6713IMG_6714IMG_6717

Blake and I are both blessed with amazing aunts and uncles.  Fortunately, Willow has some pretty cool ones too.  She was already visited the week after her birth by Uncle Jake and Aunt Rachael, and this past week, Uncle Chris came to Kansas City and Aunt Holly visited in Glendive.  What a lucky girl.

Catching Up

I have so many pictures to post from our trip to Montana…so I will have several posts over the next few days.  Its about darn time!  While we were home, my good friend Kayla McPherson stopped by with her 7 month old, Ethan. Ethan was born in March to two very tall parents, and he is a giant compared to little Willow.  Grandma Gail had a fun time playing with the two babies and Kayla and I had a fun time catching up.  Now instead of talking about boys and basketball, we were able to share stories about babies!

Hello Montana!

Greetings from Glendive, Montana.  Willow and I are spending a week here, and with Grandma Gail’s help, I finally have time to BLOG!

This week, Blake has a one-week workshop in Atchison, Kansas called Igniting the Spirit, working with palliative care, so Willow and I packed our bags and traveled home to Montana.  Willow flew for the first time and did amazing!  She did not make a peep either flight and was the perfect baby!   All of the following pictures are from my mom’s camera, and here is a shot of us getting off the plane.

Hello Grandma!

Hello Grandma!

It was hard to leave Blake back home, but we are excited to be home in Glendive.  Today marks our second day here, and already we have had a ton of visitors.   Kayla Campbell drove down from Bismarck to say hello and Willow’s great-grandparents came from Hazen.  Eileen and Blair Milne even stopped by!  All of this company in two days!  What a popular little lady!

We were also visited last week by Blake’s brother Chris.  We had a ton of fun eating out, hanging out, and bowling.  Willow loved  cuddling with her uncle. We took a lot of photos, but left the camera cord at home…..but I will make sure to post them as soon as we get back to Kansas City.

Today was Willow’s one month well-baby check up, even though she is 5 weeks old.  We were shocked…I mean I was shocked when the scale said she weighed 8 pounds 8 ounces.  I was in total denial!  I thought this whole time she had to just be over 6 pounds…boy, was I wrong!  I can’t believe how big my little girl is already getting!

Generations!

While we were in Aberdeen, we were able to spend time with Blake’s grandparents on both sides.  Willow’s great-grandparents Clete and Ella came to town to visit, and her great-grandmother Ket also stopped by!

This past weekend, Blake and I took a trip back home to Aberdeen, SD.  My parents, who hadn’t met Willow yet, met us there to meet her for the first time.  It was a fun weekend, and Willow was spoiled with two grandmas and two grandpas to hold her, feed her, and change her diaper.  Both grandmas even gave her a bath together in the sink, and while we all watched baseball, the grandpas took turns holding her while they sat in their recliners.   Blake and I were fortunate enough to get two full nights of sleep.  My mom took the Willow shift on Friday night, and then Blake’s mom took over on Saturday night.  (How spoiled are we?!)  It was a fun weekend, and it felt so great being with family!

Last night, Willow slept for 4 hours between feedings…that means, between Blake and I splitting the shifts, we each got 8 hours in!  YEAH!!!!  I feel great, but I must say that it is almost 11 and I am still in my pajamas!  The life of a new mom!  One of these days, I swear I am going to video tape the day in the life….just so when I complain about how busy we are, I can watch how life is with a newborn!

Anyway, Willow is four weeks old today.  Four weeks, I can’t believe it!  She has now started to fit in to newborn clothes and some of the 0-3 month items.  She smiles, especially after she eats, and she no longer hates her bathtime.  She actually loves it!

She was pretty happy this morning, so we decided to take advantage of a new toy from her Aunt Rachael and Uncle Jake.  She loves to look at all the colors…red is her favorite, and I caught her looking at herself in the little mirror.

We just can’t believe that this little person has been hanging around our apartment for a month now!  Whoa!
